Forgiving as Christ forgave us.

2 · Key insight
Study notes, an interpretation to weigh against the text, not Scripture itself.
- Paul ties our forgiveness of others to Christ's forgiveness of us: "even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye" (Col 3:13).
- Jesus answers Peter's question with "seventy times seven" (Matt 18:22) and a parable of a servant forgiven a vast debt.
- The parable warns against receiving mercy while refusing it to others (vv. 32–35).
- Forgiveness does not excuse abuse, remove accountability, or require unsafe contact. Reconciliation also needs truth, change, and willingness; seek trusted help if safety is at stake.

Father, You have forgiven me so much. Give me grace to forgive as Christ forgave me, and let His peace rule in my heart. Amen.
