2 · Key insight

Study notes, an interpretation to weigh against the text, not Scripture itself.

  • Jesus contrasts showy prayer with prayer "in secret" to a Father who sees (Matt 6:6).
  • The Lord's Prayer moves from God's name, kingdom and will to daily bread, forgiveness and deliverance (vv. 9–13).
  • Paul invites us to bring "every thing" to God with thanksgiving, with the promise of peace that guards heart and mind (Phil 4:6–7).

3 · Reflect

4 · Save to journal

Write at least one answer to save it.

5 · Live it & pray

Today's step

Set aside five quiet minutes and pray through the Lord's Prayer slowly, one line at a time.

Closing prayer

Our Father, teach me to pray. I bring You my worries with thanksgiving; guard my heart and mind with Your peace in Christ Jesus. Amen.
